Tory Lanez Loses Key Decision in Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Appeal
Lanez had requested to be released from prison while he fights his conviction
Tory Lanez's appeal to stay out of jail was rejected in Los Angeles criminal court on Thursday
More than a month later he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, which was dismissed in criminal court in Los Angeles.
Appearing in court for sentencing on Thursday, Lenz, whose real name is Destar Peterson
He is currently appealing to overturn his conviction in the shooting case. As journalist Meghan Cunniff reports
Peterson's lawyers filed a motion for bail release earlier this month as he awaits the appeal decision.
Judge David Heriford denied the bail motion given Peterson's conviction for a "violent felony", Peterson's "history of violating court orders", namely previously established protective orders.
