Only three games into his career with the Boston Celtics, Mike Maskala has been recognized for his deep contributions.

n

Muskala was acquired from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Justin Jackson and a second-round pick, which was Boston’s lone contribution before the NBA trade deadline. So far, so good. The 31-year-old veteran has given the Celtics time off the bench, and ESPN’s Malika Andrews would agree.

In the latest episode of ESPN’s “NBA Today,” Andrew Mascala was named the biggest acquisition of the trade deadline.

“What team has championship aspirations, maybe an outside rotation that can help them push and the depth up? Andrew: “I think it’s the Boston Celtics and Mike Mascala … This is a guy who has stepped up and can really help the Boston Celtics.” It’s impressive. I’m very impressed.”

The only members to receive Andrew Mascala are Vince Carter from Mikal Bridges (Brooklyn Nets) and Tristan Thompson from the Los Angeles Lakers.

Maskala averaged 13.3 points and 4.7 rebounds, shooting 48.4 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from behind for Boston. In the last outing against the Milwaukee Bucks, Muscala scored 18 points in 44 minutes on the night without four Boston starters including Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart.
